Originally a water-damaged and dated detached property in Cirencester, this project involved an extensive renovation and extension alongside a new-build property. This created a lovely pair of semi-detached homes in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
Identified as a potential opportunity by our director, Dave Rogers, we recommended the client purchase the property with the intension of applying for planning permission for an additional home. This application included an extension to the rear of the existing property to create 2no four bedroom semi-detached homes.
After planning permission was granted, we set to work on behalf of the client. Work to the existing property included demolition of a former side extension and garage. We then stripped it back to it's structure, removing the water damaged aspects and making the structural alterations required. This included involving a structural engineer to provide the required calculations for the new layout suitable for modern family living as well as the roof support required.
We ensured that modern building standards were applied, such as cavity injection throughout and the relevant and upgraded party wall measures, with the future occupants of both homes in mind.
Both homes had a lovely oak worktop kitchen installed, with a combination of tiles and oak flooring to the downstairs. All appliances were integrated, including separate washing machine and tumble dryers to the utility rooms. The new occupants both were young families and are delighted in their new homes.
